Electronic Arts announced that it will be shutting down online server support for a collection of its cherished games like Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, Mirror's Edge and Onrush over the next few months.
When I find the person who thought up the phrase "all good things must come to an end," their days are numbered. That was a bit strong. I'm sorry. What I mean is who decided that these good things are a limited-time offer? The lotus eaters were a cautionary lesson from Greek mythology; the crucial word there being "mythology." It was made up.
It's not only Electronic Arts phasing out support for the older titles in its library. Ubisoft has adopted this approach with a handful of Assassin's Creed entries like Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Revelations and more.

Thanks to IGN, we have a list of the games that are going to lose their servers and this strategy will be stretched out over the next three months, so there's no need to panic too much. On Thursday, Army of Two: The 40th Day, Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel and Dragon Age: Origins (Multiplayer Screenshots Server) will be shut down.
Then, on 9 November, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath and Mercenaries 2: World in Flames are ceasing their support for their servers. On 30 November, Onrush will see the same fate, and on 19 January, 2023, Mirror's Edge, NBA Jam: On Fire Edition, Gatling Gears and Shank 2 are giving up the ghost.
