Dr Disrespect, real name Herschel "Guy" Beahm IV has made his first update on social media since admitting to inappropriately messaging a minor.
The content-creating community went into a frenzy after Dr Disrespect was suddenly banned on Twitch in June 2020 after signing a reported multi-million dollar deal with the Amazon-owned company. Dr Disrespect later focused on streaming his content on YouTube after being ditched by Twitch.
At the time, nobody outside of Dr Disrespect's inner circle knew what the ban was for, and numerous rumours were circulating on the internet. However, roughly four years later, we all learned why the popular streamer was banned from the Twitch platform.

In a statement published on Twitter on 25 June 2024, this is when Dr Disrespect admitted to inappropriately messaging a minor and this was the reason for his ban.
“Were there Twitch whisper messages with an individual minor back in 2017? The answer is yes. Were there real intentions behind these messages, the answer is absolutely not,” said Dr Disrespect.
He continued, “These were casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate, but nothing more. Nothing illegal happened, no pictures were shared, no crimes were committed, I never even met the individual.”
At the end of the statement, Dr Disrespect said that he was going on an extended vacation with his family and stated that he’d return with “a heavy weight off” his shoulders. Now, he’s back after 36 days as announced in a cryptic tweet.

The tweet in question was accompanied by an image of Dr Disrespect portraying a game of chess, with his side of the board featuring chess pieces and the other side with checker pieces. Make of that what you will.

There were no words in the tweet other than the image, but the tweet at least implies that Dr Disrespect is preparing to make a move to return, I would assume.
