The release date for Diablo IV is right around the corner, and early review scores mark it as one of the year’s best-reviewed games.
According to recent Metacritic, Diablo IV is sitting at a cool score of 88, less than a week before it’s set to officially release. There are currently 41 critic reviews, many of which give the game very high scores of 90-100, with only three reviews offering a mixed score of 70.
The title is currently being hailed as “Blizzard's best-ever game”, with many praising the “immaculate storytelling … stunning art, polished, bug-free gameplay” and “endlessly customizable combat.”

Others are saying it “embodies the essence of what makes Diablo so great” by taking “the best elements of its predecessors.”
Diablo IV is, obviously, the fourth entry in the Diablo series, which took a long hiatus from its third entry, which was released all the way back in 2012, and while it did well in the eyes of critics, user scores left a lot to be desired. Hopefully, the next entry in the series can avoid the same fate, and be a return to form for the series in the eyes of critics and the playerbase.
So far so good though for Diablo IV, although we’ll need to wait for the user scores to come flooding in to get a real idea of what the game is like. The promise of bug-free gameplay is definitely a good sign, especially since many recent releases have been plagued by performance issues and glitches. It’s gotten so bad recently that many gamers are demanding playable demos of new releases to see the performance for themselves before committing to a purchase.
