Everyone, stay calm. We just got our first look at Hugh Jackson suited and booted as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, and my excitement for this film just went through the roof.
It’s been nothing but good news for Deadpool fans lately. Recently, it was confirmed that in a surprising release date-related twist, the highly anticipated third film is actually releasing six months earlier than planned. It’s now been brought forward from 8 November, 2024 to 3 May, 2024, which means that the threequel is suddenly less than a year away. Oh my.
Check out this bizarre electronic Deadpool head in action below.
Deadpool 3 will be Deadpool’s first movie under the MCU banner, following Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox in 2019. Understandably, some fans have expressed concerns that the titular antihero might not be able to act in such an R-rated manner in the new film since he’s now in Disney’s hands, but writer Rhett Reese previously promised that the threequel is “not going to be the Disney-fied Deadpool”. Furthermore, big Marvel man himself, Kevin Feige, reassured fans that the film will “will be rated R”.

Although we’re closer to the film’s release date than ever before, our eyes are yet to be blessed with a trailer, but we have started to see a few set pictures hit the internet. Last week, we got our first glimpse of Ryan Reynolds in costume, and now, courtesy of Reynolds himself on Instagram, we’ve finally been shown what his metal-clawed co-star looks like. Behold, Jackman in a bright yellow Wolverine costume.
He’s rocking it, right? This is the first time we’ve ever seen Jackman’s Wolverine donning the classic costume colours. Unless he’s just not wearing it in this image for some reason, it doesn’t seem that he has a mask to match, which is good news for anyone who’s a fan of Jackman’s face. I don't know about you, but I now need to see the trailer ASAP.
