It’s finally happening. The highly anticipated Deadpool threequel is right around the corner, and fans have just been given their very first glimpse of the titular antihero in his upcoming adventure. It’s time to get hyped.
In case you missed the news, it was recently confirmed that Deadpool 3 is actually releasing six months earlier than expected, which is the best kind of release date-related update that anyone could hope for. The third film is now set to hit cinemas on 3 May, 2024, having been brought forward from 8 November, 2024.
Take a look at this weird and wonderful electronic Deadpool head in action below.
Deadpool 3 is going to be an interesting one, solely based on the fact that it’ll be the first film in the trilogy to be made under the rule of Disney (thanks to the company’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox in March 2019). Despite the merc with a mouth stepping foot into the MCU, Marvel boss Kevin Feige previously reassured fans that the film “will be rated R”, and this was backed up by writer Rhett Reese, who claimed that the third film is “not going to be the Disney-fied Deadpool”.

While we’re still yet to see a trailer for the film, as Collider reports, some all-new set photos have now appeared online, showing Ryan Reynolds in costume for the first time under the MCU banner. His outfit seems to be pretty much the same as before, although its red colouring appears to be a bit more saturated than usual. Unfortunately, pictures aren’t enough to know whether or not Deadpool will still be his R-rated self, but hopefully we’ll find out sooner rather than later.
Hugh Jackman will be reprising his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, which is also immensely exciting. May 2024 can’t come soon enough.
