Deadpool's 2025 return revealed, including rivalry with MCU villain

Guess who's back?

Deadpool is making a return to comic books this year after several months of actually being dead.

For several issues of the Marvel comic, Deadpool has been languishing in the afterlife after dying at the hands of the newest villain, Death Grip.

Deadpool & Wolverine is currently showing on Disney Plus.

Since then, Deadpool’s daughter Ellie has been fighting in his place but now, it seems Deadpool will be returning in Issue #10, written by Cody Ziglar.

According to Taskmaster, it seems the cheeky hero has lost his touch when it comes to throwing down in a brawl, so it’s up to the one time villain to train Deadpool for the revenge match against Death Grip.

In one scene in the comic, Deadpool and Ellie will be rushing Taskmaster in the hopes of winning the sparring match.

However, Deadpool catches a rubber bullet to the face, showing that he’s a bit rusty since his death.

It seems the issue will be a montage of training with Taskmaster cracking the whip.

You might be wondering just how Wade came back to life, and how he died in the first place.

In comics tradition, it was quite convoluted, with Ellie travelling to the afterlife courtesy of Valentina’s alchemy.

Once there, she used her own healing power that lays within her blood, to bring her dear old dad back to life and ready to storm the Marvel universe.

The latest issue, with Wade back and ready to fight, is on sale 29 January and features a stellar creative team who will be guiding Deadpool to his revenge fight.

Whether he beats Death Grip, who can negate healing powers, is hard to say, but the money is on Deadpool and Ellie.

Taskmaster may take a step back into the shadows, but we can see the character on the big screen in Thunderbolts* later this year.
