There’s nothing worse than when one of your favourite TV shows gets cancelled. It’s even more painful when an entire TV universe is wiped out in one fell swoop. Before the days of Disney Plus, Marvel’s TV output could be found on Netflix in the form of Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and The Punisher.
I’ll admit, each show varied in quality but Netflix’s Marvel universe was home to some top-tier television. The Punisher may be my personal favourite, but it’s Daredevil that fans really connected with. As I’m sure you know, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is the only Netflix hero to be resurrected, so to speak, and drafted into the MCU. In fact, Cox is soon set to begin filming new series Daredevil: Born Again and he recently opened up about what we can expect.
Speaking of Marvel, check out this untitled Black Panther and Captain America team-up game coming from the creator of Uncharted.
The biggest thing that set Netflix’s Marvel universe apart from the mainline MCU was its maturity. Daredevil had its fair share of curse words and it certainly didn’t hold back on the violence, garnering an R-rating. You might think that that would be pared back now that Daredevil is in the MCU. Daredevil’s recent appearance in She-Hulk was much more light-hearted than we’re perhaps used to seeing, but Cox has teased that Daredevil: Born Again could retain some of that kind of maturity.

As reported by IGN, Cox recently appeared at German Comic Con where he compared Born Again’s tone to that of Deadpool. He said, “Because of the tone of our show, I think there’s a place for Daredevil to show up in Deadpool. That would be really cool. Great. Now that’s a news story.” Too right, it is.
The upcoming Deadpool 3 will officially draft Wade Wilson into the MCU, but that film is set to retain the R-rating that the franchise has become known for. Could Cox be telling us that Daredevil: Born Again is gearing up to do the same? Bottom line, I think we’ll all be thrilled to have a Daredevil show again after a long, long hiatus.
