Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition appears online days after Phantom Liberty launch

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition appears online days after Phantom Liberty launch

It looks like a Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is on the way

It’s certainly been a rollercoaster ride for CD Projet RED’s sci-fi RPG, Cyberpunk 2077.

From its woeful launch which resulted from it being pulled by Sony from the PS Store, to its triumphant return and several content updates that finally raised Cyberpunk 2077 to the game we wanted it to be. Granted, Cyberpunk 2077 should never have been released in its original state, but at least fans can now enjoy what is a fantastic RPG set in the location of Night City.

Check out the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty trailer below!

Last month, we were greeted by the highly anticipated release of the expansion Phantom Liberty which brought a new area to Night City, new story missions and side activities as well as Idris Elba who plays the role of the brooding Solomon Reed. Also launching alongside the expansion was the final content update which made a whole host of quality-of-life improvements, brought a new skill tree system, enhanced enemy AI and much more.

At the time of writing, you can purchase a digital bundle of both Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty expansion via your designated platform store of choice. However, there is no option of a physical bundle, but that looks to change in the near future.

Spotted by eagle-eyed Redditors, a PEGI rating for Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S is on the way. Presumably, this will not only come with the base game and expansion but also previous updates and DLC pre-loaded. A PC version wasn't mentioned, but that could be due to the fact that physical releases on this platform are few and far between.

In our review of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, we said: “CD Projekt RED is walking away from Cyberpunk 2077 in the best possible way, delivering on the game’s immense potential and dropping one final, unforgettable adventure.”

No release date has been announced for the Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, but we expect that to be revealed in the coming days and weeks. Watch this space. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
