Film star Idris Elba has expressed interest in returning to the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
The musician and actor recently sat down with GAMINGbible to talk about his upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog spin-off series, Knuckles, where he also touched on his desire to return to the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
Check out our interview with Idris Elba for Knuckles below.
For those who weren’t aware, Elba took on a lead role in the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC expansion, Phantom Liberty, where he played the suave spy Solomon Reed.

The player teams up with Reed throughout the expansion’s main story, or directly opposes him depending on your chosen playthrough.
We know that CD Projekt Red is interested in seeing a live-action adaptation of the game come to life one day, hopefully in a better way than Netflix’s The Witcher series, as well as a sequel that’s currently being made in Unreal Engine 5.
When asked if he’d be interested in returning to the world of Cyberpunk 2077 with another game appearance, the actor said: “I am actually, I love Cyberpunk … I haven't played that character yet. It's a massive game and so I've got to really put some time away to do that.”
Elba went on to say “I actually kind of would love to see Cyberpunk in a movie, so putting it out there.”

With the film currently in pre-production and supposedly releasing in cinemas sometime in 2026, there’s always the chance Elba could land a role as a live-action Solomon Reed for the big-screen adaptation.
There’s clearly an audience for it as well considering the colossal success of the Cyberpunk Netflix anime, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
In the meantime though, Idris Elba is looking forward to the fan-reactions of the Knuckles TV show, as well as more news on the next live-action Sonic film, Sonic The Hedgehog 3 which releases in cinemas later this year.
