A new job listing for CD Projekt Red seems to be pointing at the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel getting a multiplayer component.
In recent days a job advert has appeared on the CD Projekt Red website in search of Lead Network Programmer.

This role would “lead a team of talented engineers” and work together “to ensure seamless and robust online experiences.”

This is the core team for any online experience in a video game and with the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel on the way, it has many thinking the next game could feature co-op or multiplayer options.
The original Cyberpunk 2077 release was due to have multiplayer, however, the poor launch and initial issues with the game held that back, and it was eventually cancelled.
These plans, after learning valuable lessons, could now be coming to the sequel instead.
Obviously, CD Projekt Red is working on a number of games, including a multiplayer Witcher title, however, that game is being led by a subsidiary studio, rather than CD Projekt Red themselves.

It’s also highly unlikely that The Witcher 4, which starts a new saga for the studio, will have any form of multiplayer included, so signs are good that Night City is about to get more players.
Cyberpunk 2077, since being patched and updated countless times while also receiving DLC, has become the game it was supposed to be.
Player counts shot up over time and nowadays the game is considered to be a brilliant experience with many players wishing it had been delayed in the first place.
Hopes are high for the sequel and a great deal of players would love the opportunity to explore and create chaos with friends.
