Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty map appears online, is absolutely massive

Phantom Liberty promises to make Cyberpunk 2077 bigger and better!

The release of the highly anticipated expansion to Cyberpunk 2077 is nearly upon us and fans' excitement is reaching fever pitch.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is the one and only expansion to the sci-fi RPG from CD Projekt Red and it will not only unlock a new area in Night City called Dogtown, but it will also bring new main story missions, side quests, new skills, abilities and much more. It will also star Idris Elba as the mysterious Soloman Reed alongside Johnny Silverhand played by Keanu Reeves.

What’s more, whether you purchase the Phantom Liberty expansion or not, all those who own Cyberpunk 2077 will benefit from the huge Update 2.0, which not only makes various quality-of-life improvements to the base game but also adds new features such as improved enemy AI, which includes the law enforcement of Night City.

As we edge closer to the launch of Phantom Liberty, new details have emerged, and it includes the updated Night City map with its new area promising to be larger than some had expected it to be.

While the map of Night City isn't as large in terms of radius compared to CDPRs The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the Night City map is multi-layered with a lot of accessible buildings and tucked away areas, which can be easily missed. In that respect, Night City is one of the more dense maps in recent years and the inclusion of Dogtown has certainly expanded upon that.

Thanks to the YouTube channel AlphaReplay, new details were shared on Reddit related to the improved user interface, the already existing area Morro Rock (Spaceport) has now been marked the same way as districts on the map, which could indicate that this area will have a large role to play in the expansion, and of course, Dogtown will feature predominantly.

In related news, CD Projekt Red recently announced that Update 2.0 will be launching this week, and Idris Elba has confirmed whether or not you’ll be able to bonk him in the expansion.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will be released on 26 September for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
