CD Projekt RED have announced DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, titled Phantom Liberty. Revealed by game director Gabe Amatangelo during the Night City Wire: Edgerunner Special, the upcoming add-on will feature a new cast of characters, and a new region of in-game for players to explore.

In addition to these new and exciting details, CDPR dropped another delightful surprise in the form of Keanu Reeves announcing that lovable rebel and rock icon Johnny Silverhand (who deserves his own game, if you ask me) will return in Phantom Liberty, once again portrayed by the Matrix actor.

“It’s awesome to be back playing the role of Johnny,” Reeves declared, before following up to ask fans to “keep an eye out for more info,” presumably from CD Projekt RED nearer the DLC’s release date, which will be at some point in 2023. Fingers crossed it won’t be too far into the year as, personally, I am so ready for more Night City hijinks.
There was more from CD Projekt, who took the time to reveal new information about the upcoming Cyberpunk: Edgerunners animated Netflix series, which will air on Netflix on September 13th.
To celebrate the new series, a new update has been released today for Cyberpunk 2077. ‘Patch 1.6’ introduces equippable items from the show and will give players the chance to don the jacket worn by David Martinez, the series’ protagonist, and wield a shotgun used by another character from the anime.

Overall, a pretty good day for fans, and this new patch seems like the perfect reason to revisit the RPG while fans wait for next year’s story DLC. See you in Night City, Samurai.
