Cyberpunk 2077 fans blown away by 'alternate ending' we'd never have figured out

Cyberpunk 2077 fans blown away by 'alternate ending' we'd never have figured out

Flip the narrative (kind of)

Cyberpunk 2077 fans are blown away by an alternate ending that lets you save a beloved character, well, kind of.

After years of hype, Cyberpunk 2077 was released in 2020 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

However, I think most of us know about its troublesome launch, especially on last-gen consoles.

Check out the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty trailer below!

Thankfully, over time, developers at CD Projekt RED fixed Cyberpunk 2077, at least on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

If you were playing on last-gen consoles but have upgraded, then you’ll be pleased to know that the new-gen upgrade is free, so that you can play the best version of Cyberpunk 2077 at no extra cost.

I am about to venture into spoilers for a very early but important mission in Cyberpunk 2077 called ‘The Heist’. So consider this to be your spoiler warning.

In ‘The Heist’, players are tasked with infiltrating the Konpeki Plaza with their best buddy Jackie. You must steal a valuable biochip from Yorinobu Arasaka, a dangerous and powerful leader of the Night City gang, the Steel Dragons.

However, the mission does not go according to plan and no matter how players approach the mission tactically or what dialogue choices they make, Jackie will die. This helped to set the tone of Cyberpunk 2077, warning players not to get emotionally attached to important NPCs.

Yet, as showcased by Redditor utakatikmobil, you can save Jackie, but there are a lot of hoops to jump through and it does have implications on the game, such as being stuck on ‘The Heist’ mission, unless you restart. So it seems like a lot of effort for nothing to me.

“How did you even figure this out?” said liquidblueyes, asking the important question.

“When you have both charge-jump and dash-in-midair, you can go to many places you're not supposed to go,” replied utakatikmobil. “I was motivated by some other creators who kept finding ways to illegally 'enter' or 'exit' certain places. Looking for ways to return to cynosure was far more difficult than this one. I find it interesting even if it's a one-way journey.”

“New main story branch confirmed. V and Jackie become living legends and live happily ever after,” said Zestyclose-Fee6719.

“Jackie at the end of the video: I'm still bleeding, chica,” joked RD2703.

“This is incredible, well done,” rejoiced belrose332.

Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion, Phantom Liberty, are out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
