Nickelodeon has created some iconic animated shows in its time. There’s Spongebob Squarepants, Rugrats, Fairly OddParents … you name it. If you grew up in the 00s like me though, chances are you were probably pretty into Avatar: The Last Airbender. Aang is having somewhat of a resurgence as of late. There’s Netflix’s upcoming live-action series and three animated films in production over at Paramount, but there’s also a brand new game on the way.
Speaking of animation, have you checked out the trailer for Netflix's upcoming Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Take a look below.
Square Enix have announced a brand new turn-based mobile RPG inspired by Avatar titled Avatar: Generations. As reported by Gematsu, development is being carried out by Square Enix’s new London Mobile team alongside Navigator Games.
Advert
Avatar: Generations is due to soft launch in iOS and Android stores in Canada, Denmark, South Africa, and Sweden in August with a worldwide launch due to happen at a later date. The title is free-to-play and will allow players to embark on a “globetrotting quest to fulfil Aang’s destiny.”
Square Enix London Mobile wrote (via Gematsu), “The first chapter introduces Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Suki, and Zuko accompanied by the much-loved companions Appa and Momo as they embark on a globetrotting quest to fulfil Aang’s destiny. Future expansions will explore Avatar Kyoshi, Korra, Roku, and more across the timelines of the Four Nations. The game will feature epic squad-based battles and unique adventure sequences, underpinned by deep upgrade and party customisation systems as players recruit new heroes and grow their team potential. Players will also be able to experience fan-favourite locations, stories, and events in an open world, as well as brand new stories that expand the universe.” This actually sounds great - definitely one to keep an eye on.
