Who’s ready for some more Black Myth: Wukong? This highly anticipated action-RPG is in development by Chinese indie devs Game Science, and from its first reveal, has looked positively stunning. As reported by Push Square, we’ve just got another look at some gameplay footage, this time in 4K, and it’s never looked better.
Take a look at the new gameplay footage for Black Myth: Wukong right here.
As you might be able to tell given the gorgeous visuals, the whole thing is being developed in Unreal Engine 5. The game has been inspired by Journey to the West - a 16th century Chinese novel, which, as GAMINGbible’s Imogen summed up previously, “follows a monkey king named Wukong as he seeks power to challenge the Taoist gods”.

The new footage showcases combat, as well as exploration and collectibles. Previously, others have described the game as Souls-like, and you can see a similarity between the combat here and the likes of Elden Ring for sure - it looks like players are going to have to learn to dodge swiftly and attack enemies when they get openings in order to survive.
Currently, the game has no set release date, but will apparently be coming to PC and consoles sometime next year, so we’ll just have to watch this space. It remains to be seen whether or not it’ll be a new-gen only title, but given how huge it appears to be, it wouldn’t be too surprising if this was the case.
