Batman's Arkham Asylum gets horrifying modern reboot

Who are the real villains?

You don’t have to know too much Batman lore to know that Arkham Asylum is not the most friendly of places.

As a person who believes in rehabilitation, I would usually be in favour of somewhere which supposedly aims to introduce criminals back into society.

Check out the gameplay trailer for Batman: Arkham Shadow below!

However, with criminals such as the Joker, Penguin and Two-Face seemingly not learning from their actions, it seems as though Arkham Asylum is not getting the best reviews over on Trip Advisor.

That being said, things are about to go from bad to worse thanks to a modern-day spin comic book on the infamous establishment.

Courtesy of the Absolute Batman series by Scott Snyder, Nick Dragotta, Frank Martin, and Clayton Cowles, the latest update to Arkham Asylum is looking to be the most horrifying so far.

In Absolute Batman #3, Bruce Wayne finds himself having to go up against the Party Animals who are planning a series of terrorist attacks across Gotham.

Secretly led by Roman Sionias, aka Black Mask, this group is shaping up to be Batman’s biggest test yet considering our caped crusader is still in the early days of his journey.

However, with Harvey Dent at his side, he thinks he is able to gather enough information about the Party Animals to put them away for good.

That being said, it isn’t long before Bruce discovers that the inmates of Arkham Asylum are not the only ones to fear.

“NEW FRIENDS, NEW ENEMIES!” The official synopsis reads.

Batman and Alfred have formed a tentative alliance, but the Black Mask has some new friends too...and they're coming to Gotham to wreak absolute havoc.

Plus, discover the dark secret that will rock Bruce to his core and make him question everything…”

Absolute Batman #3 is now available to buy and if you are a fan of corruption stories on top of your favourite superheroes, then you won’t want to miss out on this one.
