Could I shock you for a moment? I love Assassin's Creed Valhalla. I think it's one of the best Assassin's Creed games in years. I adore its huge open world, its utterly bizarre side quests, and its oddball NPCs.
That's why I'm always happy for an excuse to replay Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and why I'm evangelical about a mod that gives the Ubisoft RPG serious Elden Ring and Skyrim vibes.
Take a look at some of the best Assassin's Creed Valhalla wins and fails below!
Assassin's Creed Valhalla: A Wanderer's Tale is a glorious cinematic reshade mod that takes its inspiration from the dark, washed out worlds of FromSoftware, and the frozen wastes of Skyrim.

If you've ever found Valhalla to be just a little bit too bright and colourful and wish it could be a little moodier, this particular mod aims to really make you feel like you're playing a brutal and bitter viking adventure.
The result is pretty stunning, and totally changes the feel of Valhalla. While I have to stress this change is cosmetic only and adds nothing new in the way of gameplay, it's a remarkable effort in the way it manages to make the entire game feel properly fresh again.
If you fancy something more ambitious, YouTuber Digital Dreams recently released a stunning video showing off the open-world game running in 8K on an NVIDIA RTX 4090 with Reshade Ray Tracing.
The footage in the video, which you can see here, was captured on an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X with a Samsung EVO 970 SSD and 32GB of DDR5 RAM at 6000Mhz. All I know is that my PC would burst into flames if I tried to run any game looking this good.

It's certainly a great time to be an Assassin's Creed fan, what with Ubisoft really doubling down on the series. 2024 has the arrival of Assassin's Creed Red and mobile spinoff Jade.
