One of the best things about the Assassin's Creed series is just how flexible it is. Want a gritty adventure set in Victorian London? You got it. Feeling a sweeping pirate adventure? It's yours. An ancient adventure across Greece? Say no more.
Even with everything behind us, there's so much ahead for Assassin's Creed fans, with various projects in the works at Ubisoft HQ. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is next up. Then there's a new game set Ancient China, an Assassin’s Creed set in Japan, and even one centred around witch trials.
Take a look at Assassin's Creed Mirage in action below!
Of course even with everything still to come fans have their own ideas for what they'd like to see from the series in the future. We've already seen some amazing concepts, including one that imagines folk legend Robin Hood as an assassin. Another, set during the Aztec era, is maybe even more impressive.

On the r/assassinscreed subreddit, user luisparive19 introduced fellow fans to their idea for Assassin’s Creed: Sun’s Shadow. They wrote: “Located in the Aztec empire during the 15th century, specifically in the city of Tenochtitlan (present-day Mexico City) where Tlaloc, the current successor of the king, would be betrayed by the king's advisors (templars) and would be recruited by the Order of Assassins to claim his throne and keep the peace.”
The user also shared some concept art of their protagonist, Tlalo, who you can see below.
As far as we're aware, Ubisoft doesn't currently have any official plans to take us all the way back to this period in human history. But given that the company is currently really going in on Assassin's Creed, I can't imagine it'll be too long until we get something similar to Sun's Shadow. Let's just hope luisparive19 gets some kind of credit for their amazing idea!
