It is fair to say that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has already had a tough time of it despite not having even been released yet.
However, it seems as though the future is finally looking bright for the next Assassin’s Creed entry thanks to an update from an industry insider.
Check out our first trailer for Assassin's Creed Shadows below!
Let’s rewind a little bit first.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows was first announced back in 2022 during the Ubisoft Forward event under the working title Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red.
When its first trailer released a couple of years later, it was met with scrutiny after fans discovered that the story would take place in 16th century Japan and follow the journey's of female shinobi Naoe and African samurai Yasuka, with the latter of which being based on a real historical figure.
With concerns disguising their racism, some people were not happy with the characters and social media became rife with discourse (Of course it did).
However, things came to a head when Ubisoft revealed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows would not launch on 15 November 2024 like originally planned but had instead been pushed back to 14 February, 2025.

As you can probably expect, the sniff of one delay has made fans worry that it may be hit by further delays in the future.
However, according to industry insider Tom Henderson, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is still “on track” for a February release.
“AC Shadows previews for media/creators are mid-Jan now, so it seems like they are on track for their Feb 14th release,” they shared via Twitter.
Somehow, this news garnered positive responses from fans.

“Hope this delay is for the better. To flop a Feudal Japan setting is the ultimate missed opportunity,” one comment read.
Another said: “Sounds like it was the right decision.”
Let us hope the next couple of months go well for Ubisoft and the development of the highly-anticipated Assassin’s Creed entry.
