Taking players to ancient Greece, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey gave us just a taste of the epic saga and now this brand-new overhaul makes the 2018 RPG look better than ever.
It is hard to believe that it has been almost seven years since Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was first released with the eleventh major instalment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise seeing us take down the Templar Order in 431 to 422 BCE.
Telling the story of the mythological history of the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta, players could pick between Alexios or Kassandra, Spartan mercenaries who must handle the ever-growing war as well as the threat of the Cult of Kosmos.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is not considered one of the best of Ubisoft’s RPG entries by any means but it still managed to welcome a legion of fans with praise for its ancient Greek mythology, world design and gameplay.

However, its sheer scale and deviation from the standard features of an Assassin’s Creed title saw it receive some criticism upon launch.
That being said, many players still enjoy heading back to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey now and again and this photorealistic graphics overhaul is the perfect excuse to do so.
Showcased over on Digital Dreams Youtube channel, we can now take a sneak peek at Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in 4K with photorealistic gameplay.
The video, which showcases over 11 minutes of gameplay footage, shows Kassandra exploring various regions of Odyssey’s map and with the help of improved graphics and ReShade, we can see how much of a difference it really makes.

From sandy beaches to stunning ocean vistas, dark moonlit forests and built-up towns, it is clear that this overhaul breathes even more life into the 2018 RPG and gives us an idea of what an official Assassin’s Creed Odyssey remaster could look like in the future.
“Looking awesome!” One user shared.
Another agreed, adding, “Really, really nice!!”
Another user made a fair point, saying, “Not saying this is bad whatsoever but it’s hard to compare when the game comes naturally looking amazing.”
