If you jumped into Assassin’s Creed Mirage upon release, chances are you might’ve done and completed all there is to see and do … Well, I have news for you. Ubisoft will soon drop a free update bringing some much-needed extra content to the game.
For many, Assassin’s Creed Mirage marked a return to form for the classic Ubisoft franchise. While it was by no means a revolutionary release - and it’s no major surprise it missed out on a Game Awards best action/adventure nomination - Mirage did bring the series away from the series’ recently favoured RPG elements back towards stealth. In our review, GAMINGbible’s Sam Cawley wrote, “It’s great to see the series shift its focus back to stealth and a compelling narrative about the Order of Assassins, and I sincerely hope Ubisoft treat Mirage as the new baseline going forward, whilst still evolving the series further.”

Over a month on from release, Ubisoft has announced a major update for the game that’ll introduce New Game Plus and a permadeath mode - a huge win. The update was revealed over on Twitter where the team wrote, “We hear you: New Game [Plus] mode for Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be available in a free update this December. And for the expert Assassins, along with [New Game Plus] will come an optional permadeath mode also available across all difficulties.”

December is mere days away, so hopefully we don’t have to wait too long to get started on our next playthroughs. The tweet ended by saying, “More details to come soon.” We’ll certainly be keeping an eye out.
Elsewhere, Xbox Game Pass users have called Assassin’s Creed Odyssey one the best open-world RPGs out there, while new VR release Assassin’s Creed Nexus earnt a seven out of 10 from us in our recent review. We said, “It’s a great addition to the series and one of the best VR experiences I’ve had in a long time.”
