IO Interactive has confirmed the first story DLC for 007 First Light, set to release later this year.

007 First Light is just over a week old, but in true IO Interactive fashion, its first major content drop has already been confirmed.

As announced during Summer Game Fest, this new story DLC takes us back to Aleph, the city in the desert ruled by Bawma, as played by Lenny Kravitz.

The trailer confirms that Bond, now with his 00 licence, is being sent to Aleph to help Bawma.

While new content has already been confirmed to be coming to TacSim, 007 First Light's bonus game mode, it appears that the new Bawma mission will be more story-focused.

Take a look at the trailer below, featuring a voiceover by Moneypenny giving Bond a briefing.

We imagine that new voice lines recorded by Kravitz, who was sorely underused in the main campaign, will also appear during the mission.

A release date for the mission has not been revealed yet, but it will be coming to PS5, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 players when it launches later this year.

In our 007 First Light review, we said that "007 First Light is an exquisite taste of slick spy action and blockbuster storytelling, and is fully what a Bond game should be, but rarely is.

"Considering almost every previous James Bond game has been a shooter, I've enjoyed the game taking an innovative approach to portray the spycraft side of Bond stories. It’s wonderful to see IO Interactive essentially coming full circle, going from being simply inspired by Bond to adapting the next chapter in the franchise’s 70 year legacy."

007 First Light is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
