Red Dead Redemption 2 player works out staggering amount of money the gang left in Blackwater

Red Dead Redemption 2 player works out staggering amount of money the gang left in Blackwater

It's a large sum of money

There’s no denying the popularity of Red Dead Redemption 2. It has been a long-standing masterpiece from Rockstar Games, consistently discussed and played since its release.

Over the years millions of players have experienced the huge open-world the game has to offer, revelling in its secrets and engaging quests.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has millions of players across the world looking for gold and riches

Red Dead Redemption 2 has gone on to sell over 50 million copies proving that the cowboy survival game is a jewel in the crown of Rockstar Games.

Of course, over the years, players have spent millions of hours wandering the wild west and discovering the tiny details strewn throughout, and one of these details is the money stashed in Blackwater the Van Der Linde was trying to retrieve.

One player, who revealed their calculations on Reddit, has now worked out the exact sum of money hidden in the township.

The $150,000 hidden away from prying eyes and hands would now be worth, working out with inflation, $4,579,132.

That’s quite the bonanza of cash. Considering the money was stashed in 1899, in the time since that amount could buy plenty of houses, cars, and items of technology, rather than horses and whiskey. However, I wouldn’t judge you if you spent over $4 million dollars on that instead.

One Redditor jokingly writes “On my way to go back in time and rob Blackwater.” And they would be right to. Imagine stumbling across that hoard of treasure and cashing it in nowadays.

Those who have played Red Dead Redemption 2, you’ll know that the main story follows Arthur as he tries to earn money and live a life in order to get back to the stashed cash and live a luxurious life. I won’t tell you what happens because if you’ve not played it, you really ought to.
