It seems GTA VI is still on track for 2025, though whenever 2026 is mentioned, you can be sure it’ll send the fear up your spine.
Johnny Ray Gill, an actor who starred in GTA V has given an interview where he hinted at a possible appearance in the upcoming blockbuster and gave us a bit of an update on the release window.
Have you seen this trailer for GTA 6 yet? You'd be the only one if not.
While Johnny Ray Gill hasn’t said what part he’s playing, he has merely alluded to being a part of a project, he did mention that we should keep an eye on a release “coming out in 2025, 2026.”

Speaking in an interview, Gill said, “I can't say anything, but there's another situation happening [while winking] in that world that may be coming out in 2025, 2026 that I'm really hyped about.”
This sounds pretty concrete that he will appear in some form in GTA VI, but that mention of 2026 is a little worrying.
Of course, the game is scheduled for 2025, and we’ve had no news of any delays. Perhaps Gill is being cautious, perhaps he has some information we don’t, or maybe he’s featured in an update coming soon after release.
I think we’ll be safe in saying it’s still on track for 2025 and hope that Gill slipped in that date just to be safe.

I dread to think what the Reddit threads will look like if Rockstar Games actually does delay the game.
It would be carnage, rioting in the streets, chaos ensuing. Or just more memes and a desperation to find hidden details in the phases of the moon, again.
Gill didn’t give any more information on his possible appearance in the Grand Theft Auto sequel, but hopefully a second trailer will reveal more about the characters and story. When it finally comes out.
