Back in the day games used to be packed with additional characters, skins and various unlockables that we could acquire through gameplay. Don’t get me wrong, that’s still a thing today but it's arguably not quite as generous as it once was.
Nowadays, a lot of content is locked behind a paywall. This is fine in most cases because, at the end of the day, companies have to make money and developers have to be paid. But still, I miss the good old days of unlocking secret characters through progression even if a character, skin or mode was unlocked by accident.

If there’s one series that gives gamers a generous amount of content straight out of the box (so to speak), it’s the WWE series from 2K and the upcoming entry, WWE 2K24 is quite possibly the most generous yet. Surpassing the likes of WWE 2K23. Sure, WWE 2K24 does have characters that are only accessible by purchasing DLC, but with over 200 playable characters available in the base game, this amount of content without paying extra is a modern-day rarity.

2K revealed the full roster for WWE 2K24 Superstars available at launch and season pass DLC and including managers, it comes with over 200 characters. Four of the launch characters are free pre-order DLC (namely Dusty Rhodes ‘76, “Undashing” Cody Rhodes, Stardust and “Superstar” Billy Graham), and various characters have different versions but it's impressive nonetheless.
The WWE 2K24 roster features a mixture of legendary Superstars from “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, John Cena, Eddie Guerrero and more, to current Superstars from Raw, Smackdown and NXT. Oh, and Logan Paul returns once more. Granted, some of the Superstars listed below may have changed shows but that can easily be updated in-game. Notable exclusions include Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar do not appear to be playable characters due to the recent allegations.

WWE 2K24 will be released on 8 March for PC, PlayStation and Xbox or 5 March for those who pre-order the Deluxe or 40 Years of WrestleMania edition.
