Anyone who is into PC gaming knows that fans love to make their beloved games look even prettier. Even better when they appear to be very good at it. A recent overhaul saw GTA V receive a complete graphical update, while several modders have been injecting Pokemon Legends: Arceus with some much needed quality of life improvements.
In terms of current games, World Of Warcraft is just a tad on the senior side being released almost 20 years ago. However, the player base is still going strong with some gamers involved since almost the beginning. With Blizzard's recent announcement that it intends to make "substantial new content" for the game this year, there's never been a better time to swoop back in.

Developer AXCEL clearly agrees, as they have been spending quite a lot of time in Warcraft lately making it look spectacular. Working in the Unreal Engine 5 - which is the same game engine upcoming stunner Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is built in - the one person dev team has recreated a part of the world as if it were developed today.

While the build only holds the area Orgrimmar Full Gate, which is a very tiny sliver of the locations WoW has to offer, it is undoubtedly impressive how much detail they have managed to recreate it in. The video shows the character running around, as well as surveying the area on their flying mount.
If one independent developer can make this with no access to prior assets, just imagine what Blizzard could create with the franchise should the mood strike them. While that feels a distant dream, let's all enjoy the beauty of what could be.
