Twitch streamer aielieen1 has been banned after she went live while masturbating to an audience of over 5,000 viewers.
The evolution of Twitch from a streaming service solely for video game content to a wide range of categories like Art, ASMR, Music, Animals, Aquariums and Zoos, Travel and Outdoors and many more cemented its status as the place to go for online entertainment. Moreover, there has been controversy over the existence of online gambling streams, with streamers worth millions of dollars potentially introducing vulnerable individuals to addictive activities. Streamers have been banned for violating the terms of service in various ways, yet users have argued that the bans haven't always been consistent and reflective of what the infraction was.
As aforementioned, aielieen1 has been banned by Twitch for her live video (which was hosted in the Special Events category) and we don't know when or if she'll be back. In August, streamer kimmikka_ was banned for having sex while on stream but that sanction only lasted seven days. In addition, Reddit users are alleging that aielieen1 has repeatedly done things like this and remakes the account on Twitch to access the streaming service again after she's been banned.
aielieen1 herself has not addressed the incident and Twitch has not announced anything to do with the stream. However, we would expect that the ban will be permanent due to the explicit content and the purposeful intention to broadcast against the terms of service.
