Netflix’s The Witcher is soldiering on after losing Henry Cavill as Geralt, but Liam Hemsworth’s take on the White Wolf hasn’t gone down well with fans.
The next season of The Witcher is set to premiere later this year, the first to star Liam Hemsworth in the leading role.

Hemsworth has reportedly been preparing for the role of Geralt by reading the books, but unfortunately fans still aren’t having any of it, believing the show should have ended after Henry Cavill’s departure.

Many have threatened to boycott the fourth season, as well as the fifth season which will thankfully be the grand finale.
Now we’ve finally gotten our first look at Hemsworth in action, and as you’d expect fans are not very impressed.
A behind-the-scenes image of the actor in his new costume was posted online, though it was quickly torn apart for being such a drastic departure to what we’ve seen so far.
One tweet said Netflix had “dropped the ball” and that the new look for Geralt “doesn't look medieval at all. It looks like he's about to fight Vampires at a club.”

Other fans agreed, with one saying it looks like “The Witcher when ordered from Wish,” and another saying Netflix had already dropped the ball by ‘by changing actors in the first place.”
It’s still unknown why Henry Cavill hung up the swords, though many speculate it was due to the writing not following the original source material, something Cavill was very passionate about. Luckily Cavill has moved on to bigger and brighter things, including a live-action Warhammer 40k series with Amazon Prime Video.
As for The Witcher, the show’s fourth season will premiere on Netflix later this year, 2024, though an exact release date hasn’t been shared as of yet.
