Despite the fact that The Last of Us season two has yet to air, it's been revealed that its third season may arrive a lot sooner than we had anticipated.
HBO’s The Last of Us season one took the world by storm when it aired back in early 2023 as everybody’s favourite post-apocalyptic Naughty Dog title saw itself finally get the live-action treatment.

Now we are in the run-up to season two with the story of Joel and Ellie expected to continue some time in April 2025.
Its official synopsis reads: “Joel and Ellie's collective past catches up to them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”
Whilst we wait for The Last of Us season two to air, we recently received an announcement about its third season which has already been confirmed.
Not only has it been confirmed but it reportedly already entered pre-production with full production expected to begin in summer 2025 in Vancouver, Canada.

Although this may not mean much for some, it does mean that we could expect to see a much shorter hiatus between the show’s second and third season.
It has been almost two-years since The Last of Us season one aired, and although that is not long at all for the scope of a show such as this, it is exciting to learn that we could see season three as early as next year.
As well as welcoming back Pascal and Ramsey, season two will also introduce Abby played by Kaitlyn Dever, and as fans of the games will know, her appearance will mark a dramatic turn in the story.
