The origins of Yoda and his species have been a long kept secret among Star Wars creators for decades.
Of course, that hasn’t stopped eager Star Wars fans from wanting the answers, though the truth of the matter can cause upset among the community.
GAMINGbible sat with Jude Law to discuss the latest Star Wars TV show, Skeleton Crew.
This is due to there not really being an answer.

Nobody knows anything about Yoda or his people. It’s a tightly kept secret for everyone, including those in-universe.
As explained over on Reddit, after a fan became curious, it’s said that, “According to the complete visual dictionary, Yoda kept it an absolute secret. No one outside his species would have any clue where to even start looking for them.”
Various fans began to question the validity of this, wondering if anyone else in the ‘extended universe’ had ever mentioned their origins.
“In every single piece of Star Wars media I ever read, nobody noted Yoda’s species name/homeworld, books included,” said a user called ApprehensivePeace305.

Another Redditor points out that George Lucas had strict rules on what could be created around Yoda, “Behind the scenes, Lucas made it absolutely clear that Yoda's homeworld is not to be revealed. It was by design.”
This doesn’t stop users speculating, which could be one reason why Lucas didn’t want an official explanation.
There’s a theory that his species is created by The Force due to the power they all wield; another wonders if their home planet is interstellar and was ejected from orbit, now kept alive by the Yoda species.
A simple reply, and a funny one, is often the best, with FriscoTreat saying, “Yoda's species is Muppet.”

Sadly, we’ll likely never know more about Yoda or his people, and I, for one, am fine with that.
A huge galaxy like that should have some secrets, and it keeps conversations like this continuing on.
