Star Wars Jedi's Cal Kestis to make live-action debut, insider teases

It's currently up in the air whether or not Cameron Monaghan will be reprising his role however

According to insider knowledge from a well-regarded leaker, Star Wars Jedi’s Cal Kestis will finally be making his way into the live-action realm.

Daniel Richtman (better known as RPK) revealed on his Patreon account that the video game character will debut in a Star Wars series on Disney+, although as of now details regarding the leaked project are relatively sparse.

Unfortunately, it’s not even been confirmed if actor Cameron Monaghan, who both voices and mocaps Cal Kestis, will be the one reprising the role, but given how popular he is and how close in age he is to the character it would seem silly if he didn’t.

As for what the project itself is, details are obviously few and far beween. However, we can make some educated guesses based on when the Star Wars Jedi games are set.

The latest game in the series, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place in 9 BBY. “BBY” refers to the Battle of Yavin in the Star Wars lore, which took place towards the end of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.

The Mandalorian takes place in 9 ABY, or in other words roughly 9 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. Ahsoka is set roughly in the same time period, give or take a couple of years.

Considering Cameron Monaghan is relatively close to the age of Cal Kestis, we can assume he won’t be popping up in something like The Mandalorian & Grogu or the upcoming Skeleton Crew TV show (unless they fancy aging Monaghan up by 20 years).

So, the way I see it, there are two options. Firstly, Cal Kestis is going to pop up in a completely new Star Wars show.

Or… he could show up in Andor’s upcoming second season. Andor is set in 5 BBY, which means there’s only a 4-year time difference between it and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Still, this is all just theorising. And whatever happens, they’re going to have be careful with what time period they dunk Cal into considering they’re almost definitely planning to do a third Star Wars Jedi game.
