The origins of the Jedi Order are about to get revealed in epic fashion with a new prequel film.
In the galaxy far, far away the Jedi and Sith are mythical factions that hold the fate of the universe between them, yet Star Wars media has rarely made a deep dive into their origins.

That’s going to change soon though, for the Jedi at least, as an upcoming film from director James Mangold will be giving fans a story set 250,000 years prior to the Skywalker Saga.

Mangold is likely best known for his recent work on Indiana Jones and the Dial Of Destiny, a grand ending to Indiana Jones long history as a film character and an excellent watch before diving into the newly released Indiana Jones and the Great Circle video game.
The new Star Wars film will explore how the Jedi Order came to be, and how experiments and research were conducted to learn more about the mysterious Force that encapsulates the Star Wars galaxy.
The script is still in the early stages at the moment so there isn’t too much to share at the time of writing, but you can’t go wrong with exploring one of the biggest mysteries in the Star Wars galaxy now can you?
Given how it’s still early days though it’s going to be a while before we see it on the big-screen, which is fine as we’ll have other films like The Mandalorian and Grogu to fill the gap as we wait.

While it hasn’t been confirmed the Dawn Of The Jedi film will likely sow the seeds of the Sith’s rise to power as well, after all the Sith were basically a splinter faction that had other ideas for how the Force could be used.
