Star Wars fans are currently uniting over the demand for a Darth Plagueis series.
Darth Plagueis is a mythological character within the Star Wars continuity that was first mentioned in Revenge of the Sith.
Although the character’s inclusion in the plot of live-action Star Wars has been extremely limited, he has appeared in several novels and expanded universe material.

The character made his live-action debut in The Acolyte, but poor reception and viewership to the show led to its cancellation.
Fans are still hopeful for certain aspects of The Acolyte to be continued in future projects, though.
A post on a Star Wars Reddit page asked for this, writing: “Could we get a Darth Plagueis series that wraps up any remaining Acolyte plot points?”
“A live action Stranger/Plagueis series that concludes the Acolyte's plot arcs, and quickly broadens the show's scope out to involve perhaps other Acolytes, and Plagueis/Tenebrous, their plans and history, would be great,” writes the most upvoted comment in the post.

“What I think is most likely is that we get a spinoff focused on Qimir,” writes another comment.
“Most people (even those who disliked The Acolyte) generally agree that Qimir was a fantastic addition so it could be the smart move for Lucasfilm to center on him as the main character.”
“I expect books and comics to be the way forward for those unresolved plot threads, especially once the High Republic publishing initiative winds down,” writes a third comment.
“Maybe a Tales of the Sith miniseries could touch on some broad strokes about Plagueis and/or the Stranger, but that doesn’t seem likely to me.”
The Acolyte was originally released on Disney Plus in 2024, running for eight episodes and cancelled in August after negative audience reviews and low viewership.

The show was a target for a review bomb campaign, as some viewers felt the series was “woke” for including female characters and casting a non-binary actor in the lead role.
For now, it seems the major plot points in The Acolyte won’t be revisited any time soon on-screen.
However, it’s more likely they could be continued in novels, comics, and other additional material.
