For years, Star Wars fans have questioned a certain action of Anakin Skywalker during Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, but do we finally have the answer?
“It's over, Anakin, I have the high ground,” said Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Master and former mentor of Anakin, during the concluding moments of an epic battle in the third Star Wars prequel movie, released in 2005.

When Obi-Wan uttered those famous words, for whatever reason, Anakin somersaulted over his former master, only to end up getting sliced and diced like pepperoni on a Domino's pizza.

To be fair, as much as it initially set Anakin back having all his limbs chopped off, he was later augmented into Darth Vader, one of the most powerful supervillains of all time. One door closes and another door opens, I guess.
However, as reported by Inverse, we may finally have the all-important answer as to why Anakin did what he did, courtesy of actor Hayden Christensen following a guest appearance at SPACECON San Antonio.
Inverse previously reported that the battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan was supposed to be shorter with a different finish, according to the stunt coordinator on Revenge of the Sith, Nick Gillard.
Many Star Wars fans believe that Anakin attempted to gain higher ground after Obi-Wan uttered those words due to inexperience, which may very well be the case.

That being said, Anakin’s poorly timed move may have more to do with a young Obi-Wan’s battle with Darth Maul in Episode I - The Phantom Menace, when Obi-Wan performed a similar move to defeat the horned-headed villain.
It’s said that this battle became a legend amongst the Jedi and one that younglings may have heard or spoken about. Influenced by the legendary story, Anakin possibly wanted to defeat Obi-Wan with his own moves.
“When Obi-Wan defeated Darth Maul, Darth Maul had the high ground, and [Obi-Wan] did this amazing flip,” said Christensen. “So Anakin, in the back of his head, he hears Obi-Wan say, ‘I have the high ground,’ and he’s like, ‘I’m gonna show him!’” the actor continued. “It just didn’t play out the way he’d hoped.”
At the end of the day, no matter the thoughts of Hayden Christensen, we can only speculate why Anakin did what he did. Perhaps, only George Lucas will ever know.
