Star Wars quietly confirmed Yoda's homeworld, and you probably missed it

Star Wars quietly confirmed Yoda's homeworld, and you probably missed it

We need a Yoda spin-off

The homeworld of the all-powerful Jedi Yoda has never been revealed in any Star Wars media, but the writers know we want to see it at some point.

Yoda is a mysterious fellow. He’s so strong in the force yet so kind, has a strange manner of speech, and has never spoken about his species and where they come from.

You can play Star Wars Outlaws right now via Ubisoft+ thanks to early-access, check out the trailer below.

Star Wars fans have been wanting to learn more about him for years now, but unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like an origin story is on the cards despite how badly we want one.

The legendary Dave Filoni, who’s handled several Star Wars TV shows like The Clone Wars and The Mandalorian briefly touched on Yoda’s homeworld in an interview for Star Wars Insider 120, “Third Wave!”

He said: “I don't think you're ever going to see Yoda's home planet. Would you really want to know? I know a lot of people say, ‘Oh Dave, why aren't you revealing certain things?’ Once we have an answer for Yoda's origins, a large part of the fun goes right out the window.

To be fair, he has a point, as half the fun of Yoda is the fact we know so little about him yet love him all the same.

We also have Grogu though, another member of Yoda’s species that's given us a first-hand look as to what childhood is like for the all-powerful force users.

If Grogu continues to age throughout upcoming Star Wars projects like the Mandalorian film, there is a chance the history of the species and potentially the homeworld will be explored in some capacity.

Filoni is right though, giving too much away could ruin the mystique, but just a little bit of history wouldn’t do any harm surely.
