Pokémon fans are giddy with excitement at the recent announcement of a crossover with Aardman Studio.

It’s no wonder, the two are a match made in heaven, with Pokémon soon to be animated in the ever-adorable claymation style from Aardman.

Pokémon x Aardman is a match made in heaven.

Of course, very little is available to us besides a charming short trailer of a Pokéball being formed from clay.

This isn’t stopping the fans from declaring love and expressing pure joy.

“Yo, this is huge!!!” expressed one fan on Twitter, shortly after the announcement was made.

Another fan jumped in to say, “What? OMG. This is gonna be fire.”

I think they’re right, it will indeed be fire.

Who knows exactly what the two companies are cooking. It’s likely to be some short animation and if Pokémon Concierge is anything to go by, it will be adorable.

While some fans would love a game in this style, that’s pretty much never going to happen due to the amount of time it would take to animate and design.

Some lovely shorts are probably all we’ll get from this pairing, but it will surely be superb.

“That's great and all, but why 2027?” asked one fan. Well, because it takes around a week for one animator to shoot five seconds of footage.

With Aardman being a British company, many are wondering whether the animation will be set in the Galar region, as one fan thinks, “I wonder if they’ll setup United Kingdom as Galar region!”

Among many exclamations of “AAAAAAA” and “OOOOHHHHHH,” there are those making some terrific jokes about Wallace, from Wallace and Gromit, becoming the next best Pokémon trainer.

“TOTALLY UNEXPECTED,” said another fan, and it really is. Which makes it even better.

Now we have a long wait until a trailer drops, then longer to wait for the full thing. We need a Wallace patented time machine.
