Peter Jackson has finally revealed which of The Lord of the Rings films is his favourite and no, before you ask, it’s none of The Hobbit movies.
Thank you in advance to Letterboxd's Gemma Gracewood for the original source!
Letterboxd recently got the chance to speak to Peter Jackson, Philippa Boyens, Miranda Otto and Kenji Kamiyama - and they couldn’t help but sneak in a question about Jackson’s favourite movie in the trilogy.

Unsurprisingly, Jackson’s answer was extremely modest.
“I can’t watch my own films,” he replied, “I just, I mean, one day… I sort of enjoy it more as more time goes by, so one day I’ll watch them again. I hope you enjoy ’em!”
However, when pressed, he did have an answer: “The Two Towers, I think. But if I see them again I might have a totally different one.”
I think his answer is pretty interesting, mostly because I think there isn’t really a consensus on which of the LOTR films is the best.

Who checked out The War of The Rohirrim?
Sort of a side effect of all three films in the trilogy being 10/10 bangers I guess, but every single thread and poll online I’ve seen about it has a different answer.
Personally though, I’m actually in agreement with Jackson on this one. Again, there really is no wrong answer, but the Battle of Helm's Deep in Two Towers still blows my mind every time I see it.

If you’re curious what Jackson’s favourite films of all time are though, well, luckily for you, Letterboxd also managed to wrench that information out of him too.
Thoroughly unsurprised that one of Jackson’s favourites is the original King Kong, but happy he mentioned The Night of the Hunter. What a banger of a film.
Here’s hoping the upcoming LOTR film The Hunt for Gollum manages to hold a candle to Jackson’s trilogy.
