A new Spider-Man film, while something we all want to see, needs to be done correctly. It isn’t just the fans who feel this way, the actor playing the next Spidey shares this sentiment too.
News about the next outing for Spider-Man has been circulating for weeks now, and not all of it has been music to fans' ears.

Although fans have been united in their relief regarding certain casting choices, they’ve also felt frustrated by the teaser for the next villain.

It’s a rollercoaster ride of emotions for audiences.
We’ve seen more of the multiverse than any of us ever wanted or thought we would see, and we’ve also done the nostalgia trips when old cast members returned.
Now feels like the right time for something different.
The next Spidey is in agreement about this, having stated that their one condition for taking on the role is that the film has a “good story”.

That should go without saying, but like many other brands, both Marvel and Sony have fallen into the trap of reusing tired, predictable narratives.
As actor Tom Holland explained when discussing his potential return to the role with Deadline, the writers "need to do" the “right thing” by its fans.
Holland, who’s also involved in the creative decision making side of the process added, “This is the first time in this process that I've been part of the creative so early [...] Everyone wants it [Spider-Man 4] to happen, but we want to make sure we're not overdoing the same things.”
Arguably, fans will be relieved to read this.

How this will impact the story eventually told has yet to be revealed; there’s a lot of decisions still to be made before we get an inkling of what the next film is about.
Even though we have no say in the matter, we’d love to see Spidey stripped back a little – he's become a high-tech hero, but we want to see the friendly neighbour Spider-Man we’ve read so much about.
