You just know that Spider-Man 4 will have a cameo or two, it wouldn’t be a Marvel film without them and now that a new director has signed onto the project there are some ideas on who could appear.
If you didn’t realise, the director of the first three MCU Spider-Man films, Jon Watts, has decided not to return and instead we’ll probably have Destin Daniel Cretton who is currently being eyed.
Disney+ has had some cracking shows recently including X-Men '97
Should this come to pass, we’ll have an established Marvel creator in the hot seat, and one who could bring in a familiar face.

Cretton had previously helmed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, so we can assume he has Simu Liu on speed dial.
This could mean that Shang-Chi finally steps back into the MCU in the form of a crossover. You might be asking, why can’t Spidey just appear on his own?
Well, a big part of the deal between Marvel and Sony, that allows Spider-Man to even appear in the MCU, is that his films must feature a crossover character.
Previously it was Iron Man, then Doctor Strange, so will it be Shang-Chi who steps in to partner with Peter Parker.

If it isn’t, then there’s another hero who has already helped Peter Parker once, has been a feature in the comics, and is coming to Disney+ very soon. Daredevil.
When Matt Murdock appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it was to the delight of fans. However, we all want to see him suited up and leaping through New York with Spider-Man.
Both possibilities could lead to interesting stories and they would expand the MCU, rather than have Tom Holland overshadowed by an MCU legend or a character forced in due to multiverse nonsense.
We’ll have to wait for more information but signs are pointing to a great cast for the film.
