This year is already expected to be jam-packed when it comes to MCU projects but with Captain America: Brave New World kicking off proceedings, fans have already noticed a major death in its trailer.
Hitting cinemas on 14 February, Captain America: Brave New World is the first major Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to kick off the brand-new year.
Check out the trailer for Captain America: Brave New World below!
As the fourth entry in the Captain America saga, this one marks the first time that Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) takes the spotlight as he finds himself in the middle of an international incident after meeting with President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford).

As we already know from multiple teaser trailers, when he is not being the President, Harrison Ford’s character will be becoming the Red Hulk but following our most recent look at the highly-anticipated movie, we have already noticed a major character death.
In the new Captain America: Brave New World trailer, President Ross is seen visiting a graveyard, or more specifically, the grave of Karen Lee Ross.
Karen was the wife of President Ross and the mother of their daughter, Betty Ross (The Incredible Hulk’s Liv Tyler) and so this is a major death and turning point for the movie.
We already know that Tyler will be reprising her role in Brave New World so this may just explain why she returns to work alongside her father.

In the comics, Karen Ross died from cancer when Betty was just twelve years old. However, what we saw in the trailer could be a flashback or Marvel could have changed things up entirely.
Either way, there is no doubt that his wife’s death contributed to the Red Hulk’s storyline and Marvel Studios is seemingly not shying away from that by featuring it in the trailer.
Captain America: Brave New World arrives in cinemas this Friday and nothing spells Valentine’s Day more than watching a load of powerful men fight each other to save the world.
