While several X-Men characters have already found themselves in the MCU, they’re yet to have their official team-up film.

This will inevitably happen, of course, and it could even lead to an Avengers Vs. X-Men storyline depending on how it’s done, but before we go that far, there’s an update on the first official MCU X-Men film.

Deadpool & Wolverine introduced us to quite a few mutants that could end up on the team.

According to the latest rumour, the Russo Brothers have signed a deal for multiple projects in the MCU, including kicking off what will probably be the Mutant Saga.

The Russo Brothers are the pair that brought us Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, and they’re now bringing us Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars when the time comes.

The next two Avengers films will probably slip in a few mutants here and there, but the X-Men films afterwards will be the first proper time the team will appear in the MCU, presumably anyway.

This information comes from DanielRPK on X, but do take it with a pinch of salt as the Avengers films seem taxing enough for the brothers. Could they really be taking on yet another project?

What’s most interesting though is the report that there are multiple projects on the way, so it makes you wonder what other Marvel heroes or storylines have caught their eye.

As for when we can expect to see a full X-Men team in the MCU, it’s going to be quite a long wait I’m afraid, but that hasn’t stopped fans from thinking of actors to play the various heroes and villains from that side of Marvel.

Let’s just see what happens in Avengers: Secret Wars and go from there, as that’ll be the biggest clue as to where the MCU will be heading next.
