The MCU has found its new Wolverine, fans agree

Deadpool & Wolverine's latest trailer has given fans a glimpse at Hugh Jackman's potential replacement, and everyone is thrilled

It's less than four days (three if you're in the United Kingdom!) until Marvel's latest blockbuster, Deadpool & Wolverine, is set to hit cinemas, but fans have already decided on Hugh Jackman's replacement.

Fair warning before continuing: a very special cameo discussed past this point was revealed in the latest Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, so if you're trying to go in completely spoiler free stop reading here!

After months of speculation, Marvel released the "Final Trailer" for Deadpool & Wolverine last Friday that featured the return of a much beloved, fan-favourite character.

Dafne Keen's big-budget Hollywood debut was in the critically lauded 2017 Marvel film Logan, where she starred alongside Hugh Jackman's Wolverine as Laura Kinney.

Laura Kinney, better know by her codename X-23, is Wolverine's clone (later revealed to actually be his daughter in the Marvel comics) whose first appearance was in the X-Men: Evolution TV series back in 2003.

As revealed in the latest trailer, Dafne Keen will be reprising her role in Logan as X-23 for the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Fans are, understandably, thrilled at this news - although others were somewhat upset that Marvel opted to let such a pivotal cameo slip mere days before Deadpool & Wolverine's release.

In fact, some are so happy to see Dafne Keen return that they've immediately begun lobbying for her to officially replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine after the films release - with one specific comment stating "make her MCU Wolverine I won't complain".

This replacement isn't totally out of left field either, as fans of the comics will know that Laura Kinney officially took over the mantle of Wolverine during the 2015 series All-New Wolverine.

Whether or not Dafne Keen's appearance marks the start of her officially taking on the Wolverine title in the mainline MCU films is mere speculation until the film officially releases, but it's very unlikely we've seen the last of her given the public outcry of support.
