Spoilers for Deadpool & Wolverine ahead, don't say I didn't warn you!
For the last 24 years there has only ever been one live-action Wolverine, and it's Hugh Jackman.
Is this a good thing for the character in the long run? Probably not. But as Deadpool quips in the recently released Deadpool & Wolverine: "they're gonna make him do this till he's 90".

Realistically I would expect the MCU will introduce a new Wolverine sooner rather than later, if only because Hugh Jackman will probably want to call it quits again eventually.
For the time being, however, it would appear Marvel has no plans to recast Logan in the MCU. Except, actually, they already did. This is where the spoilers come in, in case you missed the earlier warning.
Deadpool & Wolverine's first act involves a fun montage in which Wade travels the multiverse looking for a new Wolverine to help him save his universe. All of these Wolverine variants are played by Hugh Jackman, giving us a chance to see Old Man Logan, and even a look at Wolverine in his classic costume in a showdown with Hulk.
But there's one Wolverine variant that isn't played by Hugh Jackman. In one of the movies best gags, Deadpool discovers a Wolverine played by none other than former Superman Henry Cavill, a fun nod to a popular bit of internet fan casting.

Cavill's Logan gets less than a minute on screen, but there's just enough time for some digs at the way he was treated by DC, because how could Deadpool resist?
Will we ever actually see Henry Cavill's Wolverine again in the MCU? I sincerely doubt it. But for the first time in 24 years we actually got a new actor as the iconic X-Man, and it felt as brilliantly weird as I expected.
