There’s a lot of pressure riding on Deadpool & Wolverine, slated as the film that could ‘save’ the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Fair to say, The Multiverse Saga isn’t proving to be quite as popular as its predecessor The Infinity Saga.
It could be so-called superhero fatigue, or it could be that The Infinity Saga centred around more widely known heroes - although that latter point doesn’t matter much to me personally. I’m itching to see more of Ms. Marvel, Yelena, and Kate Bishop.

For me, The Multiverse Saga is lacking in the villain department.
It took a very long time for Thanos to finally manifest in The Infinity Saga. He was teased over a very long period of time. Heck, the first two Avengers films didn’t concern him.
Our heroes faced a variety of compelling villains all whilst the threat of Thanos loomed in the background.
The Multiverse Saga’s big bad is supposedly Kang - supposedly because the character may have been dropped following allegations made against actor Johnathan Majors.

Kang, via his many variants, has already featured in both Loki and the underwhelming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
He lacked any real sense of threat or menace with our heroes dispatching of him rather easily.
Yes, the ‘big bad’ Kang is supposedly the most evil of all variants but audiences are already tired of the character.
Could Deadpool & Wolverine be the shake-up the MCU needs?
Deadpool & Wolverine has been slated to be the film that’ll completely shake up the current standing of the MCU and honestly, it’s a move that couldn’t come soon enough.

I’d love for the film to introduce a new threat as we begin the two-year build up to the next Avengers project.
It’s not the only glimmer of hope in the MCU though. A familiar fan-favourite hero could soon be returning and that hero is Jessica Jones.
Last seen in Netflix’s Jessica Jones series, actress Krysten Ritter recently told The Hollywood Reporter that she is “100%” ready to return.
“I am ready, and I would, of course, be there in a heartbeat. She’s a character who I absolutely love, and she was a part of my life for so long. I played that character for five years, and she’s a character who’s very important to me and many women and men. So if the opportunity calls, I may or may not have an extra jacket already,” she said.

It would be nice to see Jessica return in Daredevil: Born Again. For now, we’ll just have to sit tight and cross our fingers.
