Marvel bringing another MCU Avenger back from the dead, actor teases

Marvel bringing another MCU Avenger back from the dead, actor teases

Are we craving his return?

Marvel might be bringing a popular character back from the dead in the MCU, an actor teases.

I think it’s fair to say that when it comes to Marvel movies from Sony that have no Disney involvement, they haven't shared a great deal of success compared to the MCU offerings. The likes of Morbius, Madame Web and more recently, Kraven the Hunter have all bombed at the box office.

Check out the Kraven the Hunter trailer below!

Kraven the Hunter opened up with a measly $26 million at the global box office for its open weekend, according to Screen Daily.

What’s more, it also flopped in terms of critical reception with a lowly Rotten Tomatoes score of just 15% from critics. However, it does currently have a user score of 73%, indicating that Kraven the Hunter is perhaps an acquired taste.

So you may be pleased to know that Sony is seemingly done with its awful Spider-Man spin-off movies. Other than the exceptional Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Across the Spider-Verse and hopefully, the upcoming Beyond the Spider-Verse movies, Sony has scored continuous own goals.

That being said, the star of Kraven the Hunter, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, has suggested that he’s not quite done with Marvel movies just yet. But you might be pleased to know that a Marvel character he speaks of is for the MCU and not the Sony productions.

The character in question is Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver, who first briefly appeared in 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, before playing a bigger role in Avengers: Age of Ultron the following year.

Granted, this isn't perhaps the best version of Quicksilver in the movies as my personal preference would be the version in X-Men: Days of Future Past played by Evan Peters. Nonetheless, it could make for an intriguing return should it come to fruition.

As reported by Comicbookmovie.com (via Cosmic Marvel), during an interview with Josh Horowitz, Aaron Taylor-Johnson was asked if his version of Quicksilver might return to the MCU one day, despite events that played out in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Johnson answered with a mischievous grin “Well, maybe not everything’s out there,” teasing that perhaps discussions have taken place behind the scenes that Marvel fans are not aware of.

Of course, the apparent tease from the actor could mean absolutely nothing and he could simply be teasing fans. Only he and Marvel chiefs would know for sure. I guess we’ll just have to wait to see how events play out.

Kraven the Hunter is out now in cinemas worldwide.
