Marvel has brought back Iron Man in a pretty big way, with a new suit, a new goal, and a new lease on life.
Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man did wonders for the Marvel superhero, with the MCU films - particularly his appearances in the Avengers films - propelling the character to new heights of popularity.
The next MCU film to see in cinemas will be Captain America: Brave New World, which you can see below.
In the comics, however, the character has been part of some questionable stories but for the most part, Iron Man is still a solid character. In the most recent story runs, Stark is on a mission to right some wrongs.

The new Iron Man #1 shows Tony taking back control of Stark Unlimited, which was creating weapons used to hunt down mutants, like Iron-Man-themed Sentinels.
He’s now back in the leader’s chair, but has taken it upon himself to find the weapon factories and take them out, with one of the recent missions seeing him go toe-to-toe with two Hulks.
These aren’t the green variety that fans will be familiar with, more so cheap knock-offs that lack the true strength of the gamma monster.
After dispatching the pair and having a tour of the factory, Tony is horrified to see what weapons were in development and leaves to continue his crusade.

It’s an interesting story and one that will be familiar to readers, after all Iron Man’s entire origin in the MCU revolves around the character not wanting to make weapons anymore, rather useful technology that betters the world instead.
As for future appearances of Iron Man in the MCU, there’s a good chance we’ll see a variant pop up sometime or other.
Robert Downey Jr will return though, but this time as Victor Von Doom so it’ll be interesting to see how the Avengers cope with their new enemy having the face of their former ally.
