Despite many still processing Robert Downey Jr being the new Doctor Doom, Marvel’s actually given us a glimpse of another villain.

Collectively, we’re all still reeling.

Love it or hate it, Robert Downey Jr being back in the MCU is an explosive bit of news.

However, such announcements have distracted us from another villain looming over the MCU.

At San Diego Comic-Con, a drone light show had Fantastic Four villain Galactus dominating the night sky.

Seeing as we're talking about the Fantastic Four, let's throw it back to the 1994 film trailer!

You could just assume this is paying homage to the comic book villains of old; nothing more, nothing less.

But you’d be wrong.

During a panel discussing upcoming Marvel films, Fantastic Four director Matt Shakman, and Marvel’s Kevin Feige, pretended to have little to show the gathered audience.

Yet, that wasn’t strictly true, as some test footage was shown that gave fans yet another glimpse of Galactus.

There are so many wonderful bits in this raw footage that have given us further hope that the new film will be everything we’ve been waiting for.

However, Galactus stole the show.

In the last section of the footage, the large face of the villain fills the windows of a skyscraper as it observes what’s happening within.

Given the nature of the footage, e.g. it’s only test footage, the CGI looks rough.

Nonetheless, it illustrates the dedication even then at portraying the well-known villain as many of the comic book fans remember.

Although we didn’t hear Galactus speak, we’re confident Ralph Ineson will nail that in the final cut of the film.

As thrilling as the Doctor Doom reveal was for fans, this got us more excited because it showed the fandom that the Fantastic Four is on the right path.

Even though filming hasn’t started yet (it’s reportedly beginning tomorrow), the potential is already bursting at the seams.

Big villains are back in the MCU, and we’re super stoked about it.
