Marvel fans are expressing their heartbreak and frustration over the long wait for an MCU sequel.
After a recent comment from Simu Liu, on the topic of a sequel to Shang-Chi, MCU fans on Reddit are discussing why it’s taking Marvel and Disney so long to bring back this great hero.
The next taste of Marvel in cinemas will be Sony's take on Kraven the Hunter from the Spider-Man universe
On an Instagram Threads post, Simu Liu rescinded to a query as to whether the sequel was still happening.

The MCU star posted, “I [promise] it's still happening” which is getting up the hopes of many who appreciated the first film.
One passionate Redditor, VakarianJ, says “It’s still ridiculous that it’s taking so long. Back in the day, we would’ve had the sequel last year or this year. It’s going to be like 5 years between his first & second movies.”
Once upon a time, Marvel would have pulled the trigger on a sequel a lot earlier, but you have to wonder if Marvel is realising they are spread too thin.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ended on a note that seemed to be pointing to a sequel or a team-up, possibly with Wong, who is now Sorcerer Supreme.

While user CircusPoliticus believes, “he's coming in Captain America 4,” it’s hard to know exactly what Marvel has planned when he’s been absent for so long.
However, darkknight95sm thinks, “that might be deliberate on Marvel's part, they could be trying to give more breathing room for the actors.”
With so many heroes and stories waiting to be used, it’s tough being a fan of the characters who aren’t considered ‘top-tier’ by Marvel.
We could be waiting many more years to see Shang-Chi back in action. As another Redditor says, with tongue firmly in cheek, “Can't wait to see it in 2031.”

Let’s hope it’s not that long, eh?
