Marvel officially announces our new Wolverine, and fans are hyped

There's a new Wolverine in town

There is no denying that Wolverine is back in the limelight thanks to the recent success of Deadpool & Wolverine.

The Marvel hero, who was once a part of the X-Men, has been played by Hugh Jackman since X-Men in 2000 and shows no signs of hanging up those claws.

However, with the Multiverse causing chaos in Marvel’s current timeline, having multiple Wolverines is no surprise and it seems as though we already have the next one lined up.

Announced by writer Erica Schultz earlier this year, Laura Kinney: Wolverine will be the start of an ongoing series kicking off this December.

The comic book series follows Logan’s daughter Laura Kinney as she enters the darkest corners of the Marvel Universe.

“THE ULTIMATE MUTANT DEFENSE!” The official synopsis reads.

“Wolverine takes the fight to those who stand as enemies of mutantkind! Laura Kinney was bred to be the ultimate assassin as X-23.

She's long left that life behind, but as she encounters mutants being forced to use their powers against their will, Wolverine takes it upon herself to right these wrongs - no matter who stands in her way!”

With just a couple of months to go until Laura Kinney: Wolverine #1 goes on sale, Marvel fans have taken to r/xmen to share their excitement about our new Wolverine.

“Hell yeah! Love to see this!” One comment read.

“Schultz has been quietly doing really good work at Marvel so I’m excited to see her do an ongoing book!”

Another said: “Laura ongoing means I buy. It's also nice to see Shultz on it.”

It seems as though this new comic book series will have quite a few fans when it kicks off this December.

Not only that but with Dafne Keen returning as Laura in Deadpool & Wolverine, it appears as though this is just the beginning for our new Wolverine.
