Harry Potter official returns with anime makeover

Harry Potter official returns with anime makeover

A crossover we never expected

Despite the last Harry Potter movie being released over 14-years ago, its influence over media has seemingly not ceased across the world.

With its last film hitting cinemas back in 2011 and its corresponding book, The Deathly Hallows, releasing way back in 2007, the official Harry Potter franchise has been over for quite a while.

Check out the trailer for the last Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II, below!

However, with the arrival of multiple movie spin-offs, books and games such as Hogwarts Legacy and Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, fans are still eager for more of the magical, wizarding world and it seems as though the same can be said for Japanese fans.

That’s right, to everybody’s surprise, the worlds of Harry Potter and Detective Conan have come together for a shonen crossover.

Case Closed, otherwise known as Detective Conan, is a Japanese detective manga series which has been loved by many since its inception in 1996.

Despite Harry Potter being set in a magical world, it seems as though the Boy Who Lived has quite a lot in common with the detective, even looking pretty similar.

That is definitely proven with a brand-new official collaboration visual showing the pair side by side.

“A collaboration between two glasses-wearing boys that will surprise the world,” the reveal reads.

The collaboration just goes to show how much of an influence the Harry Potter series has had across the world and may even introduce brand-new readers to the saga.

The same can also be said for Detective Conan as it is no doubt this team-up will introduce his crime-solving escapades to a broader Western audience.

Unfortunately, the collaboration is just a piece of art work for now. However, an anime crossover in the future would definitely be received well by fans of both legendary series.
